Have you ever thought that you'll get to see Angelina Jolie, Sean Connery, Gillian Anderson, and Dennis Quaid in the same movie? Well, here is your chance to check that out. This hilarious comedy is called Playing by Heart and it was both directed and written by Willard Carroll. Throughout the movie we get to see four different couples having to deal with the same problem- lack of romance. The story is placed in Los Angeles, the city of fallen angels. One of them is an older couple- Hannah (Gena Rowlands) and Paul (Sean Connery), who are long time lovers. He wants to be with her in a relationship, but she isn't willing to make it work. On the other side, there are young Joan (Angelina Jolie) and Keenan (Ryan Phillippe), who is a solitary guy. She is doing her best to keep him as her boyfriend, but he seems a bit distant. There are also Meredith (Gillian Anderson) and Trent (Jon Stewart), who meet accidentally in a book store. Since she was often deceived by men, she is backing down a lot, while Trent is doing his best to win her over. So, their stories show how these couples get along and how they try to make the romance work, but something never seems to be right.
