This movie is a awesome one, unfortunately not that nice in replica. If watching it from the side of the law which protects the feelings of religious people, and about the law banning propaganda of homosexuality, the religious fanatics who fight against homosexuals look quite real. At the beginning of the plot everything looks quite trivial, three teenagers who are looking for adventures of erotic kind are going into a far journey, and later everything becomes suddenly twisted. Rivers of blood, fanatics who are shooting into special forces in the name of God, and angels who are spreading the news about Apocalypto, well what can i say, gorgeous movie! And of course i cannot stop by and not underline such a great actors John Goodman and Michael Parks, well the rest of actors were also pretty good, and the good thing that there is no happy end in the movie.

I can say that i enjoyed seeing this movie a lot. The plot is unpredictable, and what can be better than that? It is a mixture of drama-comedy-thriller and action movie in one. The beginning looks a bit like soap opera about silly teenagers, and after it the real trash starts. In a good meaning of this word of course. Each of characters in the movie is breaking a sample, you start thinking that someone for sure should stop that, and in this moment the subject line changes completely and brings up a pleasant surprise. The end of the movie is also breaking a sample as you can wait anything but the things happening. If cutting it short, i can say that the movie producer Kevin Smith has really amazed me and made me happy, now i became one of his admirers, this movie is a real masterpiece, it is a shame he didn’t play a role in it as well.

I think starting from the first few minutes of the movie, it is already pretty clear that there will be no nice manners of behavior. The dialogues of the actors are cruel and not nice at all, and of course there is a spicy add of violence. At the beginning i thought that this movie will tell the story of sexual passion of young people, but later the plot became deeper, and a bloody thriller is starting. Cruel and non sense murders are here and there in a fast motion, and it is obvious to me that the movie producer Kevin Smith in this movie tries to show the atmosphere of a bloody psychosis, and he succeeds in it. I read somewhere that the king of trash movie Quentin Tarantino said in one of his interviews that he liked this movie, and named it as one of the ten favorite movies in the year 2011. I think that his opinion for many people in the industry is very valuable. The only thing i didn’t understood is why by the end of movie, it becomes comedy from a bloody thriller?

This film represents a horror flick with a gratuitous violence and some other things the viewer simply is not expecting. I am not sure whether this is good or not, but this is different, for sure. When watching this film I’ve got an image of the director as the one totally hating religious people, but has a crazy religious cult and various free interpretation of the Bible in it. This seems more like a satanic cult, anyway. The frequent use of F curse word gets annoying and not effective at all after a while. Throughout the storyline the movie transforms from the horror film into something else. The film also develops form a very realistic story to an unbelievable one, I give some pluses for unpredictable scenes and unexpected deaths of people, whom you do not know are going to die or survive. Still, this film is below average and far form being effective.
