Its interesting when a twisted turn of events brings people together and then threatens to tear them apart in a same, weird way. Tyler, who had a family tragedy felt that he had a huge support in Ally, a girl he met in a New York City, during the summer of 2001, and once it all seemed that they started their common life, things start happening and testing their love, loyalty and will. Although Ally's spirit was a true refreshing thing in Tyler's rebellious life, it is not enough for them to ignore problems they are facing together. Tyler Hawkins was played by Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin was playing the role of Ally Craig, a girl who witnessed her mother's murder when she was a little girl, and after that decided to live her life to the fullest, knowing how to appreciate everything each day brings to her. She finds out that Tyler's parents have split and that his brother had committed a suicide. None of those stops her from loving him in a unique way. Directed by Allen Coulter, this romance tells a story about two new lovers and their life path. Screenplay was written by Will Fetters. The interesting thing was that finding the right girl to play Ally was difficult, because of the difference in height between her and Robert Pattinson. Lena Olin, Chris Cooper and well known Pierce Brosnan are also playing their roles in this 113 min long movie that touches many philosophic and life topics important for all of us.
