Is there a better way to get money quick and clean than to run your own church? Of course not! Dan Day (Pierce Brosnan) is a leading man in the church, where they make a lot of cash. It is on the verge of building the entire City on the hill near by, along with medical school, law school and everything else included. But, in that perfect plan of his there is something that ruins his ideas. Professor Peter Blaylock (Ed Harris) calls Dan Day and one of the recently changed men, Carl Vandermeer (Greg Kinnear) to discuss the term of belief and religion. Professor strikes out the proposition that two of them, Dan and him, write a book together that will either bring more believers to Christ or bring more non-believers to their sense. After that, Dan Day kills him and sets Carl up. Next thing you know, Carl is evicted from the community and arrested for being evil and killing the professor. After spending years to get a clean slate and live a clean life, Carl gets tested again. His journey through the tests and sticking to the beliefs are the central part of the movie, which makes everything even more comical. This action comedy with drama elements is a perfect film for the whole family to get a good laugh.
