What do you get when you mix up fantasy, games, nerdy looking dude, a love story, some comical elements and amazing effects? The answer is Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. This is a movie that follows a love story of two teenagers in a pretty strange way. The main character of this movie is Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). He is a classical teen outcast who is a bit nerdy and has his own band. He is currently dates Knives Chau, a cute girl who is five years younger than him, but as he notices Ramona Flowers at one of the parties, he falls for her instantly. Trying to break up with Knives and getting on a date with Ramona is just the beginning of his troubles, but he is about to find out what more there is. As no dating or relationship comes easily, Ramona comes in a package with her seven ex boyfriends he must defeat in order to be called her boyfriend. And that is no easy task. All the action scenes have been shown through a very creative gaming mode style, which completes the nerdiness of the movie. Based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's Oni Press graphic novels, this movie was adapted into a screenplay by Edgar Wright, who was also the director, and by Michael Bacall. You can either like games or not, but this movie will be the one to make you like them in the end.
