What is the movie See No Evil, Hear No Evil about?
What happens when you bring a deaf and a blind person together and then commit a crime in front of them? A hilarious comedy, that is what happens. That is the main idea of this movie, which story was originally written by Marvin Worth, Arne Sultan and Earl Barret. Later it was adapted into a movie script by Gene Wilder and the whole team of creative writers, only to be directed by Arthur Hiller in the end. It all starts with a murder, as in any other detective movie. Along with that, there are two witnesses. The only problem is, each of them can say only one half of what the police needs, because one is deaf and the other one is blind. Wallace 'Wally' Karue (Richard Pryor) is a slim African American guy who is totally blind and loves joking with people when it comes to his blindness. Dave Lyons (Gene Wilder) is a silly white guy who is deaf. So, two of them are witnesses to a murder. Wally heard the murderer and Dave saw who that was, but has no idea how it sounds. Since they are the only ones, police tries to get some information from them, but fail. Still, the murderers aren't willing to take the risk as two of these unusual witnesses get together and go out in a search for the crime suspects.
