After the first part of the Sister's Act was a huge success, the director Bill Duke decided to get his hands on the sequel of the story. The whole plot was written by Judi Ann Mason, Jim Cruickshank and James Orr, who came up with the ideas. The story again revolves around a very well known Las Vegas showgirl and a singer called Deloris (Whoopi Goldberg). Now, she isn't the one who is in danger, but her parochial sisters from the monastery. After the Mother Superior gets informed that the religious school will be closed down due to the lack of the work and education level, which is again, due to the kids being constantly inpatient and misbehaving all the time, she seeks the help of Deloris. And how would they do that? Well, she'll have to be Sister Mary Clarence again in order to teach music to the misbehaving students in a class. From the start, the kids can see that she is no ordinary teacher nor nun, but she seems to be getting through to them. So, in the short time this group of students turns into an amazing choir. As the time for going on a championship approaches, there is another problem to be handled- one of the girls is forbidden by her mom to sing and she needs her approval to go. Since this teenager won't let anything stop her, she forges her mom's signature and leaves.
