There is nothing wrong with having a few drinks now and then. But, what it's like to drink almost all the time and being married to a person that does the same? Just how well do you know that person and how well do you know yourself then? Those are the main questions in this heartbreaking James Ponsoldt comedy drama called “Smashed”. The focus of the story is a young couple, Kate and Charlie Hannah. They enjoy in having fun, drinking here and there, going out, doing all crazy things that don't hurt anyone. After one day, when she ended up in getting sick in the classroom, Kate, who is an elementary school teacher, is determined to quit drinking. And her husband, Charlie, seems more than eager to help her go through with everything... at least it seems so. At work, one of Kates friends who was also an addict, helps her find a support group to make it all easier. And as this young teacher struggles to make it out of the world of alcohol, her husband as well as most of her friends aren't there to support her and she is starting to question everything she knows about her marriage and the person she's with. Besides an amazing plot, which makes you think about it for a while after the movie is over, another amazing thing is female leading actress, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who did an amazing job and gave such an outstanding performance. She was really believable. This is one 81 minute drama worth of watching.
