Radioactive meteor hits the Earth, a genetically altered group known as The Rochester 13 gain supernatural powers. Ian Sparks throws himself into the battle against the criminals of New York after his parent's death. He teams up and falls in love with the beautiful Lady Heavenly. This duo quickly decimates all of the thugs in the city but they manage to get into a conflict with the nation's most evil arch-villain. They lose everything, even each other. Spark is angry and on the path of vengeance, his quest for revenge will change the whole world as well as himself. Sparks is based on a graphic novel, and the movie does the graphic novel great justice. The noir element is spot on, the feeling of dread is present and the colors are gorgeous. The movie resembles the Sin City in the contrast of colors, green screen was used over abundantly, but that doesn't make the movie bad. The effects in the movie are excellent, and they have been done by only two guys, they have proved that you don't need a massive budget and a huge work force in order to create amazing effects. Music in Sparks is good, it fits the action well and it never becomes tedious. The plot is stunning, it is gripping and interesting, fans of super hero flicks will definitely love this one. Sparks isn't a perfect movie, but it is pretty close to it. Go ahead and watch it, even if you are not a fan of graphic novels, you will not regret it.
