The story about Peter Parker/ Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire) continues. After his once best friend Harry Osborn (James Franco) regains his memory and remembers that the Spider-Man was the one who killed his father, he wants his revenge. So, he turns into his father's successor, the New Goblin. His suit is dark and his technique is far better than his fathers. But, along with that, he had inherited his alter ego as well. Also, besides having to deal with him, Peter struggles with another man- his uncle's killer, Flint Marko (Thomas Haden Church). After the police was on his trail, they somehow managed to lose him again. What happened to Flint was far worse than death. He got into the secret experimental lab that turned him into the Sandman. His body became made of sand and there was nothing he could do. Still he was afraid of all that power. And after Spider-Man came after him, he defended himself with what he has. Just when you think that it couldn't get worse, Peter manages to chase Mary Jane away while trying to propose to her. All of that covers him with sorrow and darkness, so friendly neighbour Spider-Man becomes a lot darker and less friendlier. That darkness starts pulling the worse in Peter. The only question is, will he get out of that dark state of mind or not.
