In movie Spike Island teen punks with huge dreams and small desires are romanticised. From director Mat Whitecross known for movie “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll” we got Spiked Island. Spiked Island is drama, but it is refreshing and it fallows couple of Brit teens on their journey to concert of The Stone Roses. Actual event happened in 1995, but Mat placed it in 1990. It is interesting to see how kinds were having fun with no cell-phones, no internet and no smart gadgets. Actors Elliot Tittensor, Nico Mirallegro and Jordan Murphy are around 24 years old. They manage to convince audience that their characters are boys driven with hormones and big love form music. This trouble making young punks Tits, Dodge and Zippy live in Manchester. They are looking forward to go their favourite band concert. In their minds this concert should be highlight of their lives. Characters may be shallow and underdeveloped. To be honest kids their age are underdeveloped as persons. These boys with had to go over many barriers and it was not funny every time. Spike Island is movie that you watch probably only once. It is good to be reminded what were you willing to do for something that mattered to you. It is nice to remember old troublemaking friends and careless days.
