After years and years of fighting that begun as Sarah Connor was only a girl, and continued throughout John's entire life, now, there is a new chapter being opened in this story. Now, there is a totally new twist to the story in general. It is the year 2018. As the attack on Skynet didn't succeed, machines have destroyed almost whole human race. Some of them were able to survive and fight off, along with John Connor (Christian Bale). He gathers a new group of rebels called the resistance. At one point, he finds out that Skynet is building a new and improved weapon, so he alarms all the men and tells them to keep their eyes open. When intercepting an information that this weapon will be at one location, the only thing he finds it a guy with an amnesia, totally naked. Then, there is a flashback that explains who he is and how he got there. That guy was Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) and he was one of the prisoners, who were sentenced to death row in 2003. He gets convinced by a young doctor, Dr. Serena Kogan (Helena Bonham Carter), to apply for some experiments and he does. Getting back into the present, guys and girl from the resistance find him, help him, and he makes some friends amongst the teenagers mostly. As he manages to step on a mine in one of the missions, there is a pretty dark secret to be discovered that will turn everything around, especially in the mind of John Connor.
