Texas is one of those places that always appears in either very funny or very horrific movies. This is one crime drama that was based on a true story that happened in Texas. At the very beginning the viewers get to meet the main characters and get to know what is going on. Det. Mike Souder (Sam Worthington) is a detective in small Texas town, who gets teamed up with a cop from the New York, Brian Heigh (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), in order to catch the killer who is roaming around. This killer is a serial killer, but what he does every time in the same way is to get rid of the body of his victim in a place that was later called "The Killing Fields". Even most of the police officers are scared to go there and investigate. Those fields aren't in their jurisdiction, but they are trying to do their jobs and solve the case. The newcomer, Heigh decides at one point to go out there and investigate all the crimes, which causes them even more trouble. Now the killer has his focus on detectives and is after them. And whenever they think they have him, he is always one step ahead. It all changes back when the detectives find out that a local girl named Anne (Chloë Grace Moretz) is missing. Now, they must start thinking with a sick person's mind and read his next move and the place.
