The Artist is a comedy drama about a famous movie star of the era George Valentin. George enjoys his work as an actor and he enjoys everything which comes with being a star. Peppy Miller is a young aspiring actress who runs into Valentin at the premiere which ends up being the start of her Hollywood career. The studio for which Valentin is working needs fresh new faces and Peppy seems to be the perfect choice for their new talking pictures. Peppy tries to help Valentin as much as she can but it is up to Valentin to decide if he fits into the Hollywood life where he thinks that the people don't want to hear him speak. Eventually Valentin's career goes downwards. The actors are what keeps this film interesting from the start till the end, and the story is also the thing which makes this movie special. The era of silent movies is perfectly recreated, the costumes are gorgeous and the set pieces are stunning. Everything falls into place to make this movie one of the best in its genre. This movie can definitely be called a masterpiece and it is very likely to leave you speechless. Definitely check this flick out, it won't disappoint you.
