What is the movie The Caller about?
After a troubled divorce, Mary Kee moves into a new apartment. She makes it cozy and feels home there when she finds an old telephone she likes very much and cannot admire it sufficiently. She is charmed by its antique style and shape. The found thing gets an honorable place in Mary’s home. After some time, Mary starts receiving phone calls from a mysterious stranger. Talking to a caller, Mary learns, it is a woman, Rose, and day by day they become phone friends. Soon enough, Rose tells she is calling from the past and Mary is curious of her strange friend’s motives. The phone calls begin to disturb Mary, she feels haunted in her own apartment and the feeling of fear grows day by day, so she stops answering the phone at all. Angry Rose promises to revenge for this betrayal, not on present-day Mary, but on her in the past, during her childish years. To save herself, Mary is forced to kill her crazy friend. However, how to kill a person, living in the past and what if Rose kills her first..?
