We all know the situations when meeting out partner's parents. It's always somehow tight and tense at first. And its up to people to make it a lot relaxed. And when it's Christmas it should feel like home. Writer and director Thomas Bezucha just turned that everyday situation into a great movie that is really good for both family gatherings as well as for watching by yourselves. Meredith Morton (Sarah Jessica Parker) is a great girl. She is a business woman, is a bit uptight and has the perfect boyfriend, Everett Stone (Dermot Mulroney). She was raised in a conservative family, so it is pretty expected from her to have the same point of view. She gets invited to her boyfriends' family to join them on Christmas and she decides to go. As soon as they arrive there, she starts feeling out of her comfort zone and doesn't quite fit in. The Stones are one really big and free spirited family and she just isn't used to it. As she gets to know all members of the family, the tension doesn't seem to be lowering. And that leads to series of really hilarious events with even crazier outcomes, which will make any person laugh, no matter which age they are.
