What is the movie The Future about?
When you see the title The Future, you instantly think it has to do with science fiction and life on Earth at that point, along with technology and everything else. But, this time it isn't about that. From the mind of famous director and writer Miranda July comes a story about a couple changing after deciding to adopt a stray cat. It all begins with the narration of the Paw Paw, the cat. It starts telling the story about the time when it was injured and had its leg wrapped up in a bandage. There was a couple wanting to adopt it, Sophie (Miranda July) and Jason (Hamish Linklater), but they had to wait a month before taking the cat home with them. These two seem like a typical couple, people that have been together for a really long time. They are accustomed to each other and feel safe. But, after finding out the fact that they are adopting a cat that is going to be in their lives for next 5 years, they get the feeling that the joy will get sucked out of their lives. So they decide to live their lives to the fullest until the time for adoption comes. They both quit their jobs and start looking for a deeper meaning in life. Jason sells the trees in order to help the environment and Sophie starts a series of youtube videos- 30 days, 30 dances. But it all ends up in disaster. But, what they never stopped and thought about is- are they doing things right or are they over exaggerating?
