Mike Nichols has directed a comedy- drama about a guy, Ben who has recently graduated college and now having his parents high expectations on his back. What they didn't expect was that he would start an affair with beautiful Mrs. Robinson, a wife of his father's business partner, which he did, although it was not really his plan. His plan was only to drive her home, but things got out of control, once she decided to seduce him that night. It would not be that complicated, if they just ended the romance, as they did, but falling for her daughter, Elaine has made Ben's live look like a hell.
Beautiful Mrs, Robinson was played by Anne Bancroft, while the role of her daughter, Elaine belongs to Katherine Ross. Well known and highly appreciated Dustin Hoffman was playing Ben Braddock.
This movie was marked as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" in the US National film registry and selected for preservation. It was placed at 7th spot and then to 17th. This movie was made of twisted plots and affairs connected in a very mind- blowing way. Funny thing is that Dustin Hoffman thought that he didn't get the role, but his awkwardness was the thing Mike Nichols liked a lot. Later, during the movie making, there were more interesting things Dustin did, that Mike also liked and decided to keep as parts of the movie.
