What is the movie The Haunted Mansion about?
Whenever there is Eddie Murphy on an actors list in a movie, there has to be a hilarious comedy that he is in, even if it's not meant to be. This time, he gets to play the role of a workaholic real estate agent, Jim Evers. After seeing an add that a pretty old and probably expensive mansion is for sale, he takes off along with his business partner and wife Sara (Marsha Thomason) and their two little kids to see the place. As soon as they enter the mansion, they all get a strange feeling about it, but none of them can say with certainty what that is. As they get invited by the mansions owner, Master Gracey (Nathaniel Parker) invites them to stay over for dinner through his loyal servant Ramsley (Terence Stamp). Jim accepts in the name of the whole family, hoping that dinner with the owner will give them some bonus around getting their hands on selling this house, because that always means lots of money. As the movie goes on, we see that there is a remarkable resemblance between Sara and Mr. Gracey's late girlfriend Elizabeth. And lots of weird things start happening. That makes workaholic Jim start thinking more about his family, which he's been neglecting for quite a while because of the work.
