Meet Eddie (Ben Stiller). He is single, about 40 years old and .. single. He is the owner of a very well known store that deals with sport equipment but is unwilling to tie the knot. When he gets to see his ex girlfriend get married, as did all of his friends, Eddie is more than depressed because he can't do the same. At that point he meets Lila (Malin Akerman), who is a funny, cute and he is an environmental researcher. She knows how to live her life to the fullest, and it seems like she gets the best out of him. So, he starts believing that she is perfect for him and two of them get married soon after. During their honeymoon, he starts getting to know her even better and it turns out that there is a lot more going on under the surface with the sweet face. She starts behaving totally different and becomes a total nightmare. In order to avoid his life being totally miserable, Eddie goes on a night walks by the beach, where he meets Miranda (Michelle Monaghan), a gorgeous lacrosse coach, who seems to be the right one for him. With the spark that goes on between them, Eddie now has a problem- or better to say more of them. He must find a way to get a divorce from Lila and keep his honeymoon a secret from Miranda, so he wouldn't lose her.
