Based on true story that shocked America, Ariel Vromen directed movie. “The Iceman” was code name given to serial murderer by the FBI. That nickname suits him in many ways. Story is about notorious Richard Kuklinski. That man is by assessment of psychiatrists born with gift to do most heroic and brave things. With no sense of fear Richard has potential that others can’t imagine. Sadly left with no parental advisory, abused and neglected as a child he was left to his own devices. All members of the Kuklinski family were twisted and violence was the language used by them. At age of thirteen one event is going to seal destiny of Richard and people that he killed. Bullied by local kids he had enough and start beating one of the boys. Thins left out of the control and Richard killed the boy. Disposing the body was done efficiently discarded. From that child Richard grow up in caring family man devoted to his wife and daughters. That is the irony of his life. He did everything for his family because he never had one. Most shocking and part of the story is his carrier of professional killer. Characters that he meet and all things that he did are at least disturbing. Richard Kuklinski tells real story confirmed by many real dead bodies. Problem with movie “The Iceman” is that Ariel the director didn’t follow story as he should. Despite that the movie is great piece of art. Michael Shannon manages to present character of Richard to the audience. Many times proven Ray Liotta has his moments. Winona Rider is also starring in “The Iceman”. If you are not bothered with historical accuracy this is great choice for movie knight.
