Have you ever wondered how the illusionists do all their tricks? They would never give up their tricks and their secrets, because it is all based on how they master these skills. That is what makes them so special. One of them was the main character of the movie called The Illusionist- Eisenheim. Based on Steven Millhauser's short story "Eisenheim the Illusionist", Neil Burger made a screenplay and directed the movie. The story of this movie was placed in the 19th century in Vienna, in the time of turn-of-the-century. During one of the performances of the famous magician and illusionists Eisenheim (Edward Norton), two long forgotten friends were reunited after 15 years. Those friends were Eduard Abramovich, now known as Eisenheim and Duchess Sophie von Teschen. As she volunteered on the stage for one of his illusions, there was an instant spark between those two. As the Duchess was soon to be married to Prince Leopold, there was no chance of getting together. But the attraction and passion between them knew no class differences. They started an affair, and when the Prince found out about that, he started being more and more violent. As the Prince was already stressed out about taking the Crown from his father, this was like a cherry on the top. Throughout the movie we see Duchess as she realizes that she still loves Eisenheim and that he feels the same, there are lots of interesting situations where both of them have to balance out everything.
