Everyone has heard of the masked vigilante called Zorro. He is always with a black mask on his face, on the black horse and making his magic work with his sword. But, Zorro is a figure, a symbol. The man behind the mask is always someone else. After accepting the duties and taking over the legacy, Alejandro De LaVega (Antonio Banderas) has used it for the first time to solve the mystery and help the man who wore the Zorro mask before him. Now, several years after that, he is yet in another adventure, but this time by saving his fellow citizens. He is fighting criminals, but this time together with his wife Elena, the daughter of previous Zorro. Besides his duties as masked vigilante, Alejandro is also a family man. But, with most of the time dedicated to stopping criminals, Alejandro is almost never home, and his little boy doesn't know him very well. So, as Elena gets sick of it, she leaves him and starts dating Armand, a Frenchman who is a count. As the story goes on, we see Alejandro putting his Zorro mask for the last time, and getting himself back into action, in order to put an end to it all. Since he was left unharmed in an explosion in the middle of the desert, Zorro is back to uncover the truth.
