Hmm, i guess i watched this movie in the wrong time, as all it has done to me, was making me feel even more depressed when i was before. It showed me once again, that if something goes wrong from the beginning, than no matter how much you try and believe into something better you won't be able to change the end result. I am sure Leigh knew from the beginning that she won't create a family with him, he was too young for her, but she kept hoping and dreaming, and as a result she had to leave the town and build herself once again right from the beginning, i know what a broken heart means, and i know that it is difficult for every person to get back to normal afterwards, some people are wasting half of their life to go through a unhappy love, and some of them the next day are completely fine. Awe well, what can i say that is life, and bad things really do happen sometimes. But it all depends on us, the more optimistic we will look at life, the easier it will be for us, that is my life's motto, and it works pretty well for me.

Leigh London is a successful media star who at some point realized that she doesn't need all that as long as she is unhappy in her personal life, that is why she decides to change her life completely and moves out from the sparkling powerful New York into a small town where she was born. Eventually it is very difficult for her to find a decent job in that small town, that is why she decides to start working as a lifeguard in a local school, yes it is not that prestigious as the work she used to have, but it definitely is worthy, as she feels much happier this way. During this time she meets a guy, he is much younger than she is, and she never planned on being with him for real, but it just happened one day, it happened that she fell in love with him, and due to this burning feeling she done the thing she is best at, she broke her heart again, as this love was just not meant to bring some happy end in her life, and deep down in her soul she knew that since the beginning, but kept pushing that thought away. I would recommend this movie for people who are craving for a love story.

I liked the movie "The Lifeguard" very much, honestly speaking i started watching it because i thought it is a comedy, but while watching it, and by the end of the movie i can say that it is more of a drama than of a comedy. Lee is a thirty years old reporter who left the glamorous life in New York and came back home where she started a dangerous relationship with a sixteen years old lawbreaker. I can easily say that most of all i felt sorry for Leigh, as even though she was quite successful in her carrier in New York as a woman she was very unhappy as she was dating with an engaged man. Unfortunately this is the today drama, when there are a lot of single women and almost none of good guys around, that is why desperate women forget about their pride and start dating with them. I feel sorry about it. I believe that everything comes back in this world, so of course the tears of that other woman will eventually come back to you one day, that is why it is better to be alone than with a person who will never belong to you entirely.

Even great performances can't save the undercooked, shallow, overly simplistic screenplay.

Drama is short on story, long on illicit romance.

"The Lifeguard" is hemmed in by vagueness and cliche, and nearly ruined by its soundtrack, an insistent barrage of thematically obvious alt-radio music cues.
