Whenever there is a legend involved in some story, in the most of the cases, it turns out to be true. That is the same case with this one. It involves a medallion and a child. Every 1000 years there is a child born somewhere in the world, who can handle carrying both halves of one magic medallion. What does that medallion do? It gives supernatural powers that can be used for either good or evil. And the problem occurs if it comes to the wrong hands. An international criminal AJ 'Snakehead' Staul (Julian Sands) is one who is after that medallion. He had discovered where the modern child, the "chosen one" in this day and age, is and is after it. This boy's name is Jai (Alex Bao). After he is saved from a fire by a police officer, a detective called Eddie Yang (Jackie Chan). After that, two of them split the halves and boy gets kidnaped by Snakehead again and taken to Ireland. So, Eddie must go from Hong Kong to Ireland in order to continue his investigation on an international level. While there, Eddie gets assigned his old love, Nicole James (The Rock's Claire Forlani), who is a detective as well. Her duty partner Arthur Watson (Lee Evans) is also there, and can't seem to stand Eddie. As the game of cat and mouse continues, the movie becomes one big nail biting action that will keep you tense until the end.
