The Monuments Men is a war movie directed and written by George Clooney. It is based on a true story of one of the greatest treasure hunts in the history. the Monuments Men focuses on a World War II Platoon who are tasked to go into Germany to rescue an artistic masterpiece from the Nazi thieves and return it to its owners. Art is trapped behind enemy lines, it seems like an impossible mission and the motley crew sent inside of the German lines is made out of museum directors, curators and historians, it seems as if the mission is doomed to fail right from the very start. These men are not eager to give up, they know that the Nazis are losing the war and destroying everything in their path, and they don't wish the same faith for the priceless art. This movie is simply put, amazing, there are so many brilliant actors in it like George Clooney, Bill Murray and Matt Damon, only to name a few. All of the actors did an immensely good job, they are brilliant in this movie. The script is awesome, characters are witty and funny and their one-liners never fail to draw out plenty of laughs. There are a few flaws in the movie, but they are not worth mentioning since the movie is definitely worth checking out. If you like a good war drama with funny elements thrown in, give The Monuments Men a go, you will not be disappointed.
