Librarians are very smart people, but it often turns out, especially in the movies, that they have little to do with the real world. Theory is one thing and what really happens in life can be totally different. Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel Weisz) is a very smart and gorgeous librarian. After she gets curious enough to start at dugouts at the Hamunaptra, one of the old cities, she gets protected and guarded by Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser). What Evy and her brother Jonathan are unaware of is, that there is one more group f people that is interested in digging up the same city because of all wrong reasons. They plan to awaken one of the old High Priest called Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo). As that group gets their hands on the Book of Dead and awakens the Mummy, the curse is unleashed and the adventure begins. Before Imhotep finds the way to return his lover, Anck Su Namun back from the dead and close the circle, which will make him powerful and mighty Priest he once was, Evy and Rick must send him back to the underworld, because there is no bullet that will hurt this mummy now. And to make things worse, the Mummy can conjure his warriors from the ground and they sure aren't friendly.
