In last couple of years many horror movies were filmed but just a few had decent endings that didn’t left movies incomplete. The Pact has good ending that doesn’t contain twist with no sense. This movie is written and directed by Nicholas McCarthy and it is his début film. With experience in making short movies, Nicolas learned to make action and story without fillers that turn down the audience. Movie The Pact manages to keep attention high during all 89 minutes. Events are progressively scary and mystery becomes more and more intriguing as time goes by. Everything starts when mother of two daughters dies. Nichole goes to San Pedro with her daughter Eva to attend the funeral. Her sister Annie (Caity Lotz) doesn’t want to come because of bad memories and traumas that mother caused her in childhood. She eventually decides to come because legalities. After Annie’s arrival Nichole goes missing. Her daughter Eva stays with cousin Liz (Kathleen Rose Perkins). When Liz goes missing Annie becomes the prime suspect. While being under suspicion Annie claims that something unnatural is going on in the house. Luckily for Annie detective that leads the investigation is open minded and he realizes quickly that something is not right in the house. Medium Stevie (Haley Hudson) is called to help. Weird looking Stevie makes people nervous with her appearance alone. Soon they will have physical contact with whatever is in the house. Movie is very scary even without bloody scenes and guts flying around.
