One of the most interesting aspects of the "The Physician" movie is the concept of a child who learned about life cruelties quite early and being a Christian, disguised himself into a Jew, so he could attend Avicenna's school, where Christians were banned. Rob Cole, the nine years old orphan from 11th- century English town lost his mother to a mysterious illness and decided to study medicine. A specific thing about this boy is that he could sense a terminal illness and for the first time he realized it when his mother was dying. He was well aware of it but couldn't do anything to save her.
Noah Gordon is the writer of the novel that was an inspiration for the movie, and which was also one of the best selling novels. It was officially rated among the ten most popular books of all time. The director, Philipp Stölzl, Jan Berger the screenplay writer and Noah Gordon, gave a live to an amazing movie that represents a mix of drama, adventure and a bit of fantasy. Tom Payne gave the main character to Rob Cole, Ben Kingsley was mysterious Ibn Sina and Stellan Skarsgård was the barber. This German adventure film has a nice love story built in it, because we all love to see that love and life can win over death and despise.
Movie was partially filmed in Morocco, and partially in Germany. With such a marvelous set of mysterious events, its a movie that can bring back hope and sparkle an inspiration in every one of us.
