What is the movie The Pianist about?
Before the WWII, our main actor was a pianist on radio station. When war started, he was exiled and cast away from the job as he was Jew and he was soon departed to concentration camp. Somehow, he managed to get out of it, and to hide away from all dangers of the outside world. You are following him everywhere in his daily routine while he is trying to survive and how he is suffering. Biggest problem he encounters is when he somehow stumbles to an apartment where he intends to live and finds that there is piano there. He knows well that he can't play it and that it will pinpoint location to him like on map. He sits over it and moves his fingers as if he is playing without touching piano at all. When German army invades that very apartment, he hides on the roof, and stays hidden there. One day, a German officer meets him and gives him some food. They start conversation about who was doing what and how they came to this point. When war ended, that very German officer was prisoner of war and asked to find main actor so he can get at least a chance to survive.

Mmm, it is hard to write a review for this movie, but i will try. War.Only this simple word makes me feel some terrible emotions: fear, hunger, death. But to be honest i am a person who can imagine it, but in reality i do not have a clue how terrible it really was. Only due to this kind of movies i can make a better vision in my mind, in order to feel that sadness that people were feeling when they were fighting for our lives. In this movie is shown the life of only one person. So we can feel practically everything that he felt. We can see everything that he saw, and it is terrible. But how many people were same like him? Who were fighting and losing their relatives, but still were struggling till the end. After i finished watching the movie i had a impression that i lived that life together with the main hero. And for me it would be interesting to see how his life would continue after the way, with whom he would live. But probably it will stay a secret for me forever. I watched this movie with great enthusiasm till the end, and learned certain lessons. So thanks a lot.

Pianist is a movie that was based on true events, only this fact has made me expect some special effects from the movie. The movie producer has tried to show the events of that time at the maximum close level. He showed how bad was the attitude towards the “wrong” nation. But in reality the biggest part of the german people till the rest of the war had no clue that there exist champs of death in there and what was going on in them. People who had to do with that have kept it secret till the end, the Nuremberg process has shocked the entire world, as well as simple German people.
Shpilman after the war for a very long time has tried to find the ex officer who saved him from death, in order to show him how grateful he is, or in order to help if he will need it, but he couldn’t do it, as that officer has died on the territory of ex Soviet Union. And that is the cruel reality of life. And Shpilman till the rest of his life suffered because he was too late. Well, it is a tough to watch movie, but it is worth watching it.

Roman Polanski's monumental, shocking, and - most of all - uplifting biopic not only features Adrien Brody's greatest acting turn, but some truly unshakable imagery.

A great movie on a powerful, essential subject -- the Holocaust years in Poland -- directed with such artistry and skill that, as we watch, the barriers of the screen seem to melt away.

This movie is eventually very good, but it is not quite clear what Polanski has tried to show with it. How bad was the life of Jewish people during the second World War? Well i am sure that the most sensitive people in the world have managed to drop a few tears. But honestly speaking upon me this movie has made a completely opposite impression and i am not one of those people who are against Jewish nation.
But nevertheless i cannot leave without any comment the outstanding performance that Adrian Brody has shown, as well as the wonderful movie directed by Roman Polanski, yes he is Polish that is why this problem is very familiar to him. Also i was impressed by Thomas Chrechman, i had a double attitude towards his hero.
Of course i recommend this movie to everyone, but before watching it, it would be great to study thoroughly the history of the issue arose in the movie. I guess it is one of the most qualitative movies i have ever seen!
