Derek Cianfrance participated in writing story and made it easier for him to direct. He made great piece of art. Movie “The Place Beyond The Palms” well taught, and cleverly filmed. Dynamics is just right. Movie will consume all yours attention from the beginning. Main character Luke (Ryan Gosling) is all but not regular member of society who contributes to anything. He is good looking punk with no interest for the future. His skin is covered with cheep and seemingly pointless tattoos. His arms neck and face are decorated with ink. With money, job and intention to change that, he enjoys being a daredevil. Just another punk doing crazy and scary things called stunt driver. Al that is going to change in moment when he realises that he has a son. Girl he was with just showed up with a baby in her arms at his doorstep. At that point he starts feeling huge sense of obligation. It is not about him anymore. This is great part of his character development. This pretty girl Romina (Eva Mendes) has to accept some things on her own. In this situation Luke starts robbing banks in order to provide to his new family. Considering situation this maybe his most logical choice. In place behind the pines cops have only appearance better than Luke. They are dirty to the core. In that group of fallen cops there is new one, looking to change something. That one is father too, and has his own dilemmas and sense of guilt to deal with. “The Place Beyond The Palms” is great achievement of film industry.
