The Pretty One is a comedy drama telling an age old tale of mistaken identity. An eccentric and insecure young woman gets mistaken for her dead identical twin and he seizes the initiative to leave her old life behind and take on her sister's life. Through this movie the girl will learn to appreciate herself and to value her own identity. Zoe Kazan does an excellent job at portraying Laurel and Audrey, two identical twins. She is beautiful and sweet and she does an amazing job at her role. The movie itself is simple, but don't think that it means that the movie is bad, far from it. Even tho it is an indie movie with a simple screenplay the movie doesn't fail to deliver what it promises. Characters are, for the lack of a better word, funny and interesting. It would be hard to find such characters in the real life, but luckily we can see them all in this movie and enjoy them in all their quirkiness. Two main characters have a perfect chemistry between them, they fit well together and it is pleasure to see them on the screen. Dialogues in The Pretty One are well written and it is fun to listen to all of them and take them in. There are some scenes which seem to be hardly believable, but they are not a big problem, even with them the movie is still awesome. Give The Pretty One a chance, watch it and you will surely find something to love in it.
