This adventure fantasy comes from creative and talented minds of Randall McCormick and Stephen Sommers. Two of them put their thoughts together and came up with an amazing story about a Scorpion King and his entire origin. Their vision was directed by Russell Mulcahy, who brought it all to life and transferred it to the big screen. The story begins in Akkad, a small desert city. The audience first gets to meet young Mathayus, who is son of the great captain Ashur, loyal servant and personal guard of Hammurabi, the ruler, as well as the captain of first-class guards called Black Scorpions. After defending his son in front of the ruthless general Sargon, Ashur gets protected by the ruler, but is also to repay that debt by sending his only boy into Black Scorpions. After his father gets killed by the general, Mathayus finishes his training and comes back for a revenge. Now, he finds ruthless Sargon as a ruler of the land, which once belonged to Hammurabi. And that is where his whole adventure begins. ALong the way, he makes lots of allies and friends that will help him in his cause and in defeating Sargon, as well as getting the magical sword from the goddess Astarte.
