In recent past, twenty years ago cold civil war happened in the Balkans. In this part of eastern Europe wild uncontrolled criminals joined the war with profit and sick desires in their minds. This was not classic war with fronts, enemy lines defined borders. Stories that merged form Balkans form this period are disturbing and sometimes unbelievable . That is the case with story for movie The Seasoning House. This movie is hard to watch and it contains very graphic and explicit scenes. With loads of experienced in make up and special effects Paul Hyett decides to direct movie. With his behind the scenes mileage he is up the task. Paul tells the story of forgotten victims of the war. He follows deaf young girl Angel (Rosie Day). Dog of war Goran (Sean Pertwee) kills Angels mother in front of her and takes her to whore house that his friend Victor runs. Cruel and monstrous Victor (Kevin Nowarth) chooses Angel for house work and cleaning rooms and brutal beatings of the other girls. Angels handicap gives her different perspective. She starts crawling behind walls at knight and starts friendship with Vanya. Vanya was the only one who can communicate with Angel because she knows sign language. Previously mentioned Goran will again take away loved person from Angel. Again that will happened in front of Angels eyes. After that Angel lets her anger to lead her. She kills Goran and there is no turning back. Because of Pauls experience effects look as real as they can be. The Seasoning House is great movie, both thriller and heavy drama. Not everyone can watch this film.
