From the director and one of the writers Ben Lewin comes an amazing story adaptation of a paralysed man and his journey to the manhood. Mark O'Brien (John Hawkes) is a 38 year old guy who is almost totally paralysed. And although it seems like he can't do much, he isn't quite ready to give it all up. He wants to live his life, and not just lay in the room, waiting for it to be over, like most of the paralysed people do. One day he decided he wanted to have the ultimate experience, with sex included. But, since he wasn't able to move, this was a difficult wish to dream of. With the help of the therapist and his priest, Mark gets hold of a woman called Cheryl Cohen-Greene (Helen Hunt), who is a professional sex surrogate. Day after day, she teaches him how to experience pleasure and how to control his body as well as his urges. And as the time goes by, they get involved in a relationship which is a bit more than their usual sessions. And the whole movie is based on their time spent together and how they interacted with each other, fell in love, felt attraction and desire as well. This comedy drama with romance elements will keep you company for 95 minutes and it is perfect for home alone time, with a blanket and a warm beverage.
