It was released in 1991 and it immediately became one of the most popular classics of all time. Back then, it was not a classic of course but it was more than obvious that it is going to have many fans all over the world. Jonathan Demme is the director of this movie and the writers are Thomas Harris and Ted Tally. No one will ever forget magnificent Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs. These two are the best FBI-villain couple of all time, that is what many people think. The fact that Clarice Starling (Foster) has just started working for the FBI is making this movie even more fun to watch since she is dealing with a monter who is not only older than her, but also capable of doing the unthinkable. She has been sent to the Baltimore state hospital in order to interview so called Dr. Hannibal, the cannibal Lecter. He used to be a psychiatrist and now he is a serial killer. The way she is dealing with him and the dialogues – it is all simply fantastic, and if you are a true movie lover, you will find this movie one of the best ones of all time for sure. It is not easy to communicate with such a clever man, and the fact that he is a killer doesn't make it easier at all. She is searching for Buffalo Bill, which is a nickname for a serial killer...

Of course the movie is not new at all, but only the last week i downloaded it and decided to watch it in the evening with my husband. We both enjoyed the movie very much, although my husband later remembered that he already saw it some time ago, but he said it didn’t change the attitude towards it. We both agreed on the fact that some time ago though the special effects were not that good the movies were still much better, and now all of them are “stamped” and look pretty much same. There is no use in advertising this movie, as everyone knows about it. Some moments in it were shocking, and i cannot get rid of the gross thoughts about cannibalism. I didn’t see the other movies about Lector, but i surely know what is the list of “must see” movies in the nearest few evenings. Also i liked the main actress, in some way she reminded me about Dana Scully from “X files”. I recommend this movie, but i should warn that this movie is not for children or easy to impress people.

Only after watching this movie a huge interest towards psychology has been born in me. I decided that i would like to discover the secrets of human souls, the same way as doctor Lecter was doing that. This movie really is amazing from all the points of view! i do remember a few violent scenes in the movie when the skin was taken off the human body. Ugh that was one of the most disgusting things i have ever seen in my entire life!
In my conscience was left the heavy look of Lecter, his low and calm voice which nevertheless was making my heart beat stronger, his voice, and his ability to see the essence of people. If this kind of person would not become a killer, than i am sure that the life of a simple person would not brought that much attention to his superb abilities. That is why everyone who have not seen this movie should immediately visit the great psychologist doctor Lecter, and maybe he will invite you for a dinner. As about me, umm i am on diet, so what? Dinner? No, thanks i am good :))))

This movie i have watched not once, but i cannot say it is a perfect one at all! If choosing between its three parts, i would say that the second one about Hannibal was the most thoughtful and interesting! In this part i didn’t like a lot of things: The serial killer who is gross watching on, while he is making all those faces in front of the camera. At the first look he is a simple person but the genial police was not able to find him for a very long time!
And the manic Gannibal who is one of the most dangerous people in the world, but in order to speak with him is being sent a student who is on her practice, now how stupid that can be?! I think specialists were supposed to communicate with him!
Most of all i liked the episode when he tricked all the cops and got away, while the parallel story about the pervert serial killer was not interesting at all! I think Anthony Hopkins did just great in this movie, and all i can say is Bravo!! I think everyone needs to see this movie at least once per lifetime, as it is teaching many important things!

This movie has been the subject of countless parodies imitations, and ripoffs, and that's a shame since it seems that these things tend to cheapen the original product. It is also to the credit of screenwriter Ted Tally and director Jonathan Demme that they were able to take material that could easily be construed as high grade lurid pulp and turn it into a high brow intelligent masterpiece that appeals to both thinkers and fans of the gruesome alike.
