Alonso Mayo is experienced in directing all sorts of video material like series, short movies and movies for big screen. He wrote several short scenarios and The Story of Luke is his first long story. Luke suffers from autism and he lives with grandparents. His mother left him when he was baby so grandparents took care of him. Eventually grandmother died and the grandfather had to be put in the home. Because of that Luke had to move to his relatives to live with them. This pushes Luke into the world that doesn’t take him seriously. Alonso managed to reveal to us how it looks like when no one is expecting something from you. Grandfather gave inspirational speech which made Luke determined to find a job and a girl. He also has desire to “screw like any boy of his age” but he doesn’t exactly know what he wishes for. With interest in big boobs and interaction with people, he doesn’t take “NO” for an answer. These are some of his lines that show how naive he is and how pure is his logic: “My mother left me when I was four, and doesn’t want me back” he sad that to random clerk; “Grandma say that I defy any clinical categorization, I am special just as anyone else, maybe even more”; “I want to out and screw like a boy my age”; “I scream sometimes, I shouldn’t by I do, breathing helps and pancakes”. Lou Taylor Pucci did outstanding performance that is rarely seen these days. Humour is dark but it is repelling. The Story of Luke will make sensitive people cry so have a tissue box on hand.
