This brainchild of Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal, who were both writers and directors of it, consists of three stories in one. It is perfectly layered and brings out the best in all the actors, as well as in the stories themselves. The first one is about a young veteran from the Second World War and his life- girl he loved, life he had and all the loses he encountered in France after the war was over. The second story involves a young writer who is struggling to make it in the big world, with his father nagging and pressuring him to find a real job. Suddenly, this writer finds a complete novel and uses it as his own, to get into the world of success. The third story is about an old man who is getting involved with a lot younger woman and they form an unusual bond. With the casting crew that consists of Bradley Cooper as Rory, the writer, Zoe Saldana, as his wife, Jeremy Irons as the old guy, Olivia Wilde as old guy's young lover Danielle, and Dennis Quaid who is the narrator of the whole thing, there is no way that this movie can be bad. Drama with romance and mystery elements is always good on a rainy lazy afternoon with or without a partner by your side.
