Top Gun is a program that was developed to teach ACM- air combat manoeuvring. Only the best of the best pilots in their class are allowed to enter this program. One of them is a guy called Maverick (Tom Cruise). He is young and pretty ambitious. He was promoted after wingman left the flying academy, when Maverick managed to talk him down to the Carrier during one of their test-practises. While in Top Gun Naval Flying program, Maverick encounters people who can both be his friends as well as some enemies. One of them is the one called Iceman (Val Kilmer), who sees Maverick as his opponent and is ready to fight him for the name on the wall, which marks him as one of the best pilots ever. During his training, Maverick gets to deal with both being one of the best students, as well as the reputation that is following him since his father had died, which certainly isn't an easy thing to do. In all that mess, he accidentally falls in love with one of his flight instructors, Charlie (Kelly McGillis). Now, Maverick must find the way to balance his emotions in order to make it all work as it should.
