In True Grit we follow a story of farmer Frank Ross and his employee Tom Chaney as they are heading to Fort Smith in order to purchase some ponies. During their adventure, he gets murdered by Chaney. The reasons his employee did it was because of the money, of course. He then goes to the Indian Territory. There is a teenage daughter of Frank in the story. She is a book keeper of the family and her job is to take care of the money.
The task that Mattie Ross is to bring the body of the father back home, but before meeting the undertaker, they see Judge Parker sentencing three men and hanging them. This is when the movie really starts.
It is a movie from 2010, directed by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen. They are the writers too.
Jeff Bridges is magnificent as Rooster Cogburn. You will love to watch Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie Ross, Matt Damon as LaBoeuf. We are more than thrilled to watch Josh Brolin as Tom Chaney, and Barry Pepper, who is playing Lucky Ned Pepper.
True Grit is an adventure, but there are elements of drama and western as well. This movie has given Jeff Bridges a chance to be nominated for the academy award, and only one year before, he won it for Crazy Heart.
