A 2010 Canadian horror comedy which won over the critical public, “Tucker & Dale vs. Evil” was directed by Eli Craig and tells the story of two West Virginia hillbillies mistakenly thought to be chainsaw wielding psycho killers. A group of young people are camping in West Virginia. At a gas station they meet Tucker and Dale, two hillbilly friends who have just bought their dream home, a rundown cabin in the middle of the woods. Dale takes a liking to Allison, one of the girls from the camping crew, and approaches her, but it results only in scaring Allison and her friends. When Dale and Tucker rescue Allison, who hit her head while skinny dipping in a lake, her friends think that the hillbillies have kidnapped her and go to their cabin to rescue her. What follows is a comedy of errors, with most of the young campers managing to kill themselves accidentally in the most gruesome ways, making the others think that it was Dale and Tucker who did it. On the other hand, the two hillbillies believe that the kids are suicidal, but don’t want to call the police in fear that they will be blamed. As characters one by one fall to their bloody deaths, it will be revealed that there is a real psycho killer among their ranks, and Tucker, Dale and Allison will have to scramble to survive, and perhaps even find true love in the process.
