Unanswered prayers is the fascinating drama that comes from Otis Jones and Anne Gerard as teleplay stroy, which was directed by Steven Schachter . It deals with a former high school couple years after the high school was over. Ben Beck (Eric Close) was the high school football captain and one of the starts in the football world. After his life of fame he returned to his home town in Virginia and settled down. He got married and joined the family firm. Now he has a wife Lorrie (Samantha Mathis) and a young boy Jessie (Tony Oller). And he is happy and calm. That is until his high school love, Ava Andersson (Mädchen Amick) comes back to town. After another failed marriage Ava comes to her home town in order to bury her mother. Two of them meet and there is an old spark getting lit up between them. Now, Ben's marriage and love for his wife is put to the test, since his heart starts beating faster and faster every time he sees Ava. After they have a long discussion about why their engagement didn't work out and who broke it off, they get attracted and seduced by each other at the same time. Jesse, his son, took that pretty hard, gave up on his football scholarship and dedicated his summer to a writing course instead.
