What is the movie Unforgiven about?
Even though he has been primarily known as an actor, Clint Eastwood has been honing his directing skills for decades before scoring a runaway hit with “Unforgiven”, in which he stars as well. “Unforgiven” earned him an Academy award for best director, and a nomination for best actor as well. Eastwood plays the Role of Will Munny, a former gunslinger turned farmer. Munny gets pulled back into the world of criminals and hired guns when his farm begins to crumble and he is hired to avenge the death of a prostitute killed by two men in Big whiskey, Wyoming. He recruits his old pal Ned Logan (Morgan Freeman) to join him in hunting down the two killers. Big Whiskey is run by a ruthless sheriff Little Bill Daggett (Gene Hackman) who doesn’t want any hired killers in his town and deals with them swiftly and mercilessly. Upon his arrival, Munny is beaten by the sheriff’s men and ordered to leave, but after he recuperates he is back on the killers’ trail. He manages to kill one of them, after which Ned Logan decides to go back home, while Munny chooses to stay and finish the job. After killing the second wanted man, he learns that Logan has been caught, tortured and killed by sheriff Daggett. He collects the money and splits it between his own family and Logan’s, then goes back to Big Whiskey to avenge the death of his friend, bringing the story to the final showdown between Munny and sheriff Daggett and his henchmen

Unforgiven is a fantastic movie with a very well written and well developed storyline with an outstanding cast. The movie is very professionally directed by the one and only Clint Eastwood, who also delivers a great performance, along with incredible actors such as Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman, who won an Academy Award for this movie, and it's no surprise why.Eastwood has of course starred and directed several westerns in the past, but this is very unique to them,it has a lit more heart, emotion and also a lot more character development than you would expect from an average western.Unforgiven is a great movie that I would recommend to all moviegoers, especially anyone looking for a good western or drama.

This movie is a rare one, as it is perfect in its kind. The actors were chosen in a very correct way, especially Eastwood! He played like he has gone through same things in life as his character. I watched this movie without pauses, and i was pleased to see how perfect was each scene of it! It looked like a masterpiece with no minuses. And at the same time it was very simple. There is no Hollywood “drama” which was a normal thing by 1992. There was a story in front of me, that looked awkward due to the variety of losses in it! Which happened to the ex cruel killer, ex one because he didn’t killed for eleven years. Because on his life path he met a woman who loved him and closed the way to self destruction and murders. But as soon as she died, he left alone with two children and had a very poor life. Suddenly appears the opportunity to earn a lot of money, but in a very bad way, and it takes him time to agree on that. I advice this movie to people who enjoy masterpieces, i will not say a lot about it, as i will drown you with the emotions i am overwhelmed with now.

Personally I like Clint Eastwood mostly in the movies where he is much older, because he is good as an actor and movie producer, i would even say that he is a genius! The “Unforgiven” was filmed during thirty nine days and got four Oscar awards even for the nomination the best movie of the year. It is a western movie in the best traditions of the genre. The wild west and small city Big Whiskey, the cruel and professional sheriff (Hackman) and the ex killer who become down to earth person (Eastwood). To be honest i think this movie differs a lot from the old American western movies- as it is very serious, there is no perfectionism in it, and it looks very real. Beside that, there is a great performance of the actors in it, and a great movie directing. This movie deserves everyone to watch it. And as a final conclusion, i can say the best thing about it, is that it was filmed based on true events. I am not a fan of western movies, but this one i even enjoyed!

It is a great western movie which was filmed in the best traditions of its genre, it was filmed by Clint Eastwood, and as usually in the majority of his movies he is the actor who performed one of the main roles in it. Here cowboys are not the stupid people who keep going from one place to another and kill everything that has the ability to move for the sake of money and alcohol (though here there is a lot of it as well). There is a interesting story in this movie, even a few stories i would say, but as a result everything comes to the logical conclusion that even cowboy killers have their own principles of decency, and they have their own laws that are undeclared.
As a real western this movie lasts about two hours, but it is really worthy spending time on watching it, i didn’t even noticed how the time has passed. The performing crew is wonderful: there are such actors performing in it, as: Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman, Richard Harris and of course Clint itself! This movie shows the atmosphere of those old times. I advise it to people who are able to enjoy a qualitative movie about real men!
