Story circles around a medical school dropout Wallace (Daniel Radcliffe) who has never had any luck with relationships. Nothing seems to go his way when it comes to relationships and it feels like things will never change for the poor Wallace. Everything changes one day when he meets Chantry, an animator who lives with her boyfriend Ben, and they immediately seem to "click". They form a connection and their relationship deepens to the point when they become the best friends. They both feel the chemistry between them and they start to ponder the question, what if the love of your life is your best friend? The movie is pretty funny and fresh and it shows Daniel Radcliffe in a different light, it is obvious that he managed to mature as an actor as well as a person. He performs naturally and there is no denying his acting talents. The movie can get predictable at some moments, but still manages to keep things fresh and unexpected. The characters are awkward but loveable and everyone who has seen Juno will definitely enjoy What If. Zoe Kazan who plays Chantry put out an astonishing performance and it is nice to see an actress manage to be smart, cute and awkward at the same time. This movie is definitely worth checking out with your loved one or a good friend. It is by no means something which will keep you thinking about it for ages to come, but it is also not a movie which will be forgotten after the first viewing. Fans of romantic comedies are going to love this one!
