Bette Midler was born in the beginning of December 1945. A famous American actress who is performing mostly in the comedy genre; also she is a singer who is writing her own songs. She was born in Honolulu in a Jewish family. She was named in the honor of Bette Davis, who was a very famous actress as well, and whose movies, her mother knew all by heart. After graduating the school she was studying in the Hawaiian University and her specialization were the Dramatic Arts. The same time was held her debut in the movie “Hawaii” which was released on the screen in 1966. In the summer of the 1965 Midler went to NY where took place her debut in the theater. Her first solo roles she performed in different theater plays. Later she made her road to the Broadway, where she was performing the main role in the musical “The violin player on the roof” for three years. In 1993 she was honored with Golden Globe award, and Oscar nomination for the role of Dixie Lenard, in the movie “For our guys”. Later she proved to be an actress who is able to perform in each kind of genre. Since 1984 she is married with Martin Fon Husselberg, from whom she bore a daughter Sophie in 1986. Currently Bette is choosing very carefully in what movies to perform, as she prefers staying at home with her family mostly.
