Thomas Noble Sellwood was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. He grew up in Mahtomedi, Minnesota, and graduated from Mahtomedi Senior High School in 2006, where he played football and ran track. He then went on to attend the University of Minnesota, and graduated from its School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2010.
