Yesterday Alec Baldwin took the stand to testify against an alleged stalker, Genevieve Sabourin, who is on trial for stalking and harassment. In emotional testimony the actor said he and Genevieve never had a sexual relationship and broke down in tears as he accused the woman of making his life miserable.
The French Canadian actress allegedly sent tons of emails to Baldwin and made unwelcome visits to his New York home after they had dinner together back in 2010. He claims that the dinner was strictly business and that he gave her career advice as a favor to his friend, producer Martin Bregman.
“It was merely a favor to the man she was the mistress of,” he said. “She was Marty’s girlfriend.”
However, Genevieve showed up on his doorstep on multiple occasions, and even turned up in the Hamptons on the day he proposed to his wife, Hilaria, in April, 2012.
“I ran to tell my wife not to go near the door because I wasn’t sure if she had a gun or a weapon or where we were at this point, and then I called the East Hampton police,” Baldwin said.
Sabourin repeatedly interrupted his testimony and even shouted out, “You’re lying!” When the judge threatened to hold Genevieve in contempt, her lawyer hustled her out of the crowded courtroom.
Stalkers can get really dangerous! I feel pity of Alec Baldwin. I hope this issue is solved and Genevieve will get her ‘punishment’. The stalkers should realize that interfering with one’s life is something you can avoid without paying for it. I cannot understand how cheeky you need to be to appear at actor’s door at the day of his proposal to his wife. How rude and bad you need to be to bring it to the court and make actor cry in public. Genevieve, I am begging you for mercy!
