Angelina Jolie: Visiting war zones made me appreciate life

Working for the United Nations, Angelina Jolie travels a lot and often visits war zones. Seeing all the horrible things and listening to people’s tragic stories has made her appreciate life more.

Speaking to Psychologies magazine, the actress said: ”I’d been through a period where I was more concerned with my own problems and pain. Then I travelled to places where there were landmine victims, I went to my first war zone, to places where you see people in real need.”

She added: ”You meet people who don’t even know where their parents are, or their children, and they haven’t got enough food. And you wake up in a moment, you realize how fortunate you are that your concerns are nothing in comparison.

”You don’t worry about yourself, you worry about other people and you just grow up. It helped me get out of my own head. And it’s a happier life. To be of service to others creates a happier life.”

Angelina believes that people are not evil by nature.  ”We have a choice about how we take what happens to us in our life and whether or not we allow it to turn us.

”We can become consumed by hate and darkness, or we’re able to regain our humanity somehow, or come to terms with things and learn something about ourselves,” she explained.

I think Angelina Jolie is one of the best women who ever live or lived on this Earth! She is a very succesful and fortunate woman in her carrier and personal life, but somehow i feel that carrier is not the most important things for her, family is the main thing for her, and after that comes her serving to the community in which she is living! Like for example i don’t know any other woman star who would constantly travel to places where there is or was war! As well as i do not know women who would have children of their own but nevertheless would care about children in the third world countries and would adopt and educate them same as their own children. Eventually in all the pictures i see that she or Brad hold their biological kids only in their arms, but still they are very caring parents.

I can only imagine how difficult it was for Angie to see how those poor people are living. I often find myself in the situation when i am not grateful for the things i have, and keep complaining about the desire to have more, but in reality i do not even have idea how fortunate i am to be healthy to have healthy parents, to have a loving husband and cute children, to have a old dog who is already a sort of family member, to always have food on my table and new clothes in my wardrobe, but the most important thing is that my world is constant, and i am sure in the day of tomorrow, but there are people in the world who are starving, or have even greater problems, and i feel ashamed of myself when i read this kind of things!

I guess Angelina Jolie is not beaking an ambassador of goodwill for no reason, probably it is her unique way to pay for the mistakes and sins she done a long time ago. Like for example the horrible thing that she has done to the actress Jennifer Aniston when she took her husband away from her while they were filming in “Mr and Mrs Smith” movie, of course it was a wonderful movie and they look just perfect together, but the way she has done it was very himiliating for Jen, she could at least wait till the moment they will officially break up instead of making public the news that they are in a relationship in a sneaky way. Probably she feels guilty for doing something like that, and no wonder she is right to feel that!
