Blake Lively is launching her own lifestyle website later this month and it will be called Preserve. There, people will find “artisans and products, many handmade one-of-a-kind items all selected by Blake.” However, Blake is not the first celebrity who turned lifestyle guru. Here are some others.
Gwyneth Paltrow
In 2008, Gwyneth decided she wanted to be more than just an actress. She started a website called Goop. There Gwyneth offers style, food, parenting and wholesome life advice. “Whether you want a good place to eat in London, some advice on where to stay in Austin, the recipe I made up this week, or some thoughts from one of my sages, Goop is a little bit of everything that makes up my life,” she wrote. Paltrow also writes books, mostly on diets, and in her recent one, It’s All Good, she matches her food philosophy—local, organic, low-carb, high-plant—with recipes and photos.
Suzanne Somers
By the early 2000’s, Somers had made a name for herself as an expert on dieting, weight loss and aging. In recent years, she’s become an outspoken advocate of anti-aging hormone therapy and her latest book, I’m Too Young for This!, offers information on a range on natural hormone remedies for menopausal and “perimenopausal” woes.
Jessica Alba

In her book, The Honest Life, Alba lets readers in on her own experience raising a newborn, her frustration with companies that conceal information about what their products contain and how they’re made, and offers her advice on how cultivate an easy, down-to-earth lifestyle.
Shay Mitchell
This Canadian-born actress likes to promote her healthy lifestyle and living tips on her blog, although she has not made as big a name for herself as some other actresses have. Mitchell maintains a lifestyle blog with a little bit of everything, from advice on do-it-yourself projects to decor and healthy food recipes for meals and snacks. In addition, the actress includes her pointers on fashion, beauty, and culture, including how to get the hottest looks for less.“I want to encourage girls to take risks,” she said, “to express themselves.”
Elizabeth Banks
In 2012, Elizabeth started her own website that covers various topics from pop culture, lifestyle and fashion tips, to Hunger Games articles. “I’d love Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle but I shop at Target and I buy in bulk,” she said. “I’m really just a country bumpkin. “I don’t write everything that goes up on the site, but nothing gets written that I don’t review. I’d call myself the editor in chief.”
Lauren Conrad
Although she hasn’t been on TV much since MTV’s hit show The Hills, Conrad has been hard at work building and growing her lifestyle brand. She has a line of clothing and bedding at Kohl’s and is the author of two guides to style and beauty along with six novels. And she has a lifestyle website that offers recipes, fashion tips, crafts and a book club. “I needed a website that would act as a hub for my brand,” she said.
Jenny McCarthy
Jenny started her career as a Playboy model and, over time, she has become an actress, TV host and author of a number of health-oriented books, focusing on motherhood (Baby Laughs), and her experience raising a child with autism (Louder Than Words). In Healing and Preventing Autism (along with co-author Dr. Jerry Kartzinel), the vocally anti-childhood-vaccination asserted her controversial view that early childhood vaccinations contribute to the development of autism.
Alicia Silverstone
