Cameron Diaz can be ‘incredibly vain’

Speaking for the May issue of Glamour magazine, Cameron Diaz discussed her physical appearance and how important it is for her.

The 41-year-old actress says that she doesn’t get upset when she sees an unflattering photo of herself in a magazine, but at the same time she can be very obsessed with her looks.

“I have very little vanity – but at the same time I’m incredibly vain,” she says. “If I see a bad picture of myself in a magazine, I don’t give a s**t. I’m, like, whatever. But it’s a funny thing being out in the world in the way that I am. You really have to keep yourself in check because it’s easy to lose your head.”

When it comes to aging, Cameron claims it doesn’t bother her that much because she is looking forward to playing different roles in movies.

She explained: “Now that I’m getting older, people have stopped asking me about proving myself and started asking me whether I’m worried that I won’t get any interesting roles any more – when, actually, older roles are the best roles for a woman. The ingénues are not getting the interesting roles now – they weren’t really ever. They were just being objectified.”

I believe in this respect that Cameron has revealed in her interview, we can all get incredibly vain. All women like to look gorgeous, especially on certain occasions and when we, women, become successful, we do not give a sh..t for what many say as we know our price. The main idea not to be this way all the time, and know the limits and remain humane.
